Salita Promotions has officially announced a women’s super featherweight world title unification bout between WBC champion Caroline Veyre (11-1) and IBO champion Bernice Ferreira (10-0).
The championship clash is set to take place on August 15 at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia. The event will be broadcast live on DAZN.
Caroline Veyre captured the WBC super featherweight world title in her most recent appearance, defeating highly experienced former champion Delfine Persoon (50-4) by unanimous decision. Before becoming a world champion, the Canadian also held the WBC Silver featherweight title.
During her professional career, Veyre has recorded victories over fighters including Carmen Vargas (5-4-1) and Gabriela Bouvier (22-14-1). Her only defeat came against Joana Chavarria Lopez (7-8-1).
The unbeaten Bernice Ferreira, representing South Africa, enters the biggest fight of her career after capturing the IBO super featherweight title with a victory over Ellen Simwaka (14-8-2) in her most recent outing. Prior to that, she earned notable wins against experienced contenders Nozipho Bell (16-5-1) and Bukiwe Nonina (20-6-2).
